Dinosaur in MediaCorp

A dinosaur is found wandering in the carpark of MediaCorp on Wednesady. It attracted staffs gathering around, trying to catch a glimpse of the extinct species. CNA newscaster Susanne Jung was there to make live report on the commontion.

Of course the dinosaur is fake. It was the crew from 'Walking with Dinosaurs' bring one dinosaur, shooting for the coversage in News. The dinosaur is custom to make to the actual size of a real creature, so this is just one of the small size one amoong the dinosaur kingdom.

I was quite impressed with the whole thing, because it looked so real!!! Although I will never get to see a dinosaur in my life, I could tell how magnificent it would be during that time. How was this small creative going to fight for survival when there were bigger and stronger ones out there?

Though it only stayed in our compound for a short while, but I could tell everyone has a good time.

‘Sh!!!

Super busy October and November, as I got quite a lot GRO jobs to do.

I have done Indian variety shows and Chinese Talk Shows within these 2 months, all in Public Holidays, and all the weekend. Nope, I am not hardworking, just that I need extra cash flow... :P Yes, yes, I will be paid for it.

There are really difference in the way different races do a show. For Chinese show, they will keep quite closely to their timeline, like 8.30am to 9pm, and have us standby around the area, so the PD could come out and call us anytime. Everyone including the artistes will have to be in the compound, even if it is not their turn to go on air yet. I have to sit outside the studio, and look out once the door was opened. Fortunately for me, there are always 2 GRO for one show, if not I will be bored to death.

For Indian show, the PD would ask me to wait for her call at the reception, because there will always be someone coming for recording throughout the day. Recording could start from 10.30am but it may end early or late at night depending on your luck. The last time, it ended at 2am in the morning. I was lucky that it ended at 10.30pm for me that day. Throughout the day, I have been walking in and out from the reception to the studio bringing artistes, Deejay, dancers and audiences. I was very amused that they will provide meals for everyone in the studio. Yes, everyone. From backstage to artistes, GRO to audiences. They ordered food for everyone, and keep asking me to eat. Haha, good! Save my money. Chinese show also will cater food for GRO too, but not for the audiences.

For pre recorded show, we will always have to pray hard that everything run smoothly, so they can knocked off on time, and we can go home and have a good rest too. Experience GRO knows what we need to bring to pass time, to keep ourselves warm and keep ourselves full. we will never know what time it end, what will happen and what is needed for us to do. The most frequent job is to walk, walk and walk. It can be from the theatre to the reception, or to the car park, or it be climbing up and down the stairs. Of course, there are easy job like staying at the reception and gather all the people for the show. However, this kind of 'good life' post will be given to the uncles and aunties GRO working with us. I am always the one running around. Good exercise.

Sound fun right? Wait till you see my blog on complaints.

Yao Man - 4

Yao Man is back!

Previously, she was quite down due to some personal reason, and now she is back to herself!

We went for KTV few weeks ago, and she kept telling me she can not sing.

I said, 'Sure or not??? Who knows you might give us a surprise by singing Susan Boyle's Memory'.'
Yao Man replied, 'Please lor!!! I can not sing nicely hor.'
We shall see...
On that day, our dear Yao Man sang so many nice songs with perfect voice. Gosh!!!! Mandarin songs, Cantonese songs are not of any challenge to her. She even sang a Hokkien song by MayDay!
From that day onward, I decided to call her Hazzie Boyle.

Just attended a wake at Singapore Casket. My very good friend, whom I regard her as my sister, Lisa, has just lost her beloved mother.

She is very strong, and she related to us that she actually told her mother, to let go and pass on peacefully, no need to worry about her, as she has grown up and married already. I am very touched to hear that because being an emotional person, I know I am not so strong like her.

We were chit chatting at the table, when one of her friends mentioned that she can not talk to her mother as much at home. So she do not know how to start a conversation with her mother. We thought they had fights or something. The truth is , she said no matter how close she wants to to be with her mother, she feels very awkward.

Lisa and I had the same thought. We both think, our parents just want to have dinner with us. Even if no one start a conversation, they will still be very happy, as they just want to see us at home, keeping them company. I believe that is not a difficult thing to do...

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

I thought I have conquer the hectic workload, and everything was right on track. I thought I can go home at 6pm everyday to go for dinner with my friends or with my parents, or to work out at the gym. I thought I have everything under control, and I can clear the requests as and when emails come in. Seems like I am wrong or laugh too early...

For the past few days, I have been staying late for my work. Not forgetting I have heart pain previously, I learnt to relax and do not be too tensed up. Somehow, I got things stacking up, but I was trying my best to clear everything within deadlines.

I did not stay in the office till too late at night now. 8pm is my limit. If it was a report that I must submit by the next day, I will rather copy the files into my thumb drive and bring home to continue, but I try not to do that. Sometimes, I really think, is it worth my hard work? Anyone appreciate? Maybe I should just pack up and go home. Regardless how urgent it is, regardless how many people will be chasing me... Maybe I should be irresponsible and goo enjoy myself... However, I know I can not, and I will not too...

Hope this crisis will be over soon, and I can resume my gym life, social life and personal life...

Tree Top Walk

This is a bit late, as the walk actually took place last month.
As usual, the Gym Family will organise an outing whenever Pfeiffer went on holiday. To us, that will be our resting period too, so we will try to do something else.

This time we went for Tree Top Walk in Macritchie Reservoir. After potluck breakfast, and pictures taking, and we started our journey.

Everyone was high and energetic when we just started at 9am, singing, chatting and walking at the same time. Every place with nice scenery, we will stop and take pictures. However, everyone started to keep quiet one by one, not because we were scare, but because we were very tired. We climbed so many slopes and walked do n many curves, and the walk had not completed yet. Most horrible thing was we must to be very careful when we saw monkeys along the way. A monkey actually snatched a packet of food from my friend, it really turned fierce when it saw that Jonathan never gave in. Fortunately, we had a very full breakfast before we started and there were not much left in the plastic bag.

Our dear Anita mentioned, 'Hmm... I wonder if these monkeys have diabetes or high calories? They have been eating food from human. Cakes, egg tarts, all the junk food.' Funny right, at this point in time, she can still think of that.

We were all so happy to reach the top, but only for a short while, because we still have to walk down again. At that time, it was like 11.30am, and the sun was shining on us mercilessly. By the time we reached the bottom, we cheered with our heart, and then we realised, it was 1 plus and we were in Upper Thomson already. Imagine what a long distance we have walked.

Nevertheless, we have successfully completed the walk, all safe and sound, but sweaty and tired. A great achievement, and I want to salute people who climb Mount Everest and other famous mountains and cliffs. Walk has been so tough, how about people in uneven roads and bad weather?

Clap clap clap~~~

Been working as a GRO for the above mentioned program, 'Let's Talk' for the past 2 days.

It was the last 2 recording days, and they recorded 5 episodes within this period. Therefore, I was like been in MedicCorp, like normal working hours, reporting at 8.30am going home at 8pm...

The concept of the show is quite similar to the Taiwanese Infotainment, '大学生了没?' hosted by 陶晶莹,Ah Ken and 纳豆. Students from different levels and schools are invited to come and voice out their thought on a topic discussed that day.

Many people might think that, 'See! MediaCorp is copying the overseas production again.' However, I think likewise. I think this is a very good place for teenagers to voice out. They talked about Love, Studies, Friends, Idols, Depressing moments etc and I strongly feel that, not only the students must watch this program, parents and teachers are also encourage to watch.

There are times when teenagers can not speak up their mind, not because they do not want to, but they can bring forward their messages upfront. As there are large age gaps between adults and youngsters, the distance in thinking is also wide. That is why we always hear the common excuse, 'You Do Not Understand Me!!!'

I am wondering, why there are no such program given to us at my teenage period. I have a lot of 'Silent Sufferer' friends who keep everything within themselves. If they will to watch program like this, will they still feel that they are the 'most unfortunate' person in this world? Will they treat themselves better, then to hide in the house? How come I know? Yes, they called up to talk to me, but never go straight into the point. Anyway, I am always lending them my listening ears.

Yesterday was their last episode, and they have mini celebration for the production team. I think they must have recorded about 10 to 15 episodes all together (Well, I only took over the last 2 days, so I do not know how much episodes in total.) From strangers to friends, they have been recording this program for the past 1 week, naturally they felt sad to bid everyone good bye.

Looking at them, I started to miss my school friends. 'O' Level and 'A' Level classmates, how many are still keeping contact with me?? Married with kids, Single and successful with career, are the 'Silent Sufferers' still keeping to themselves? Maybe one day I should try to find every single classmates out one by one and try to see how's everyone is doing. Who knows, I might come out with a book, 'School Daze' just like Army Daze. Hahaha!

Halloween

Lots of people were sporting to dress up for Halloween last night, but I personally did not really like it. I understand it was for the fun of it, and everyone who dressed up for the party will live up to the theme. However, roaming the street with bloody face and heavy make up, make no sense at all.

I saw skeletons and 'ghosts' with bloody face bride along orchard road, and I even saw a 7 years old Snow White with bloody tears on her face, and her little brother (I think must be), dressed up as Dracula. Fortunately he was the cute version of it, long before his sharp teeth grow.

At first, I was quite impressed with the costume and make up, however, I was turned off when I saw kids crying after seeing them. It was cool to dress up, attending parties and having fun with friends, but it was not cool to scare kids standing behind then suddenly. It may be Halloween, but the kids did not understand it. Furthermore, the Halloween culture just started a few years back in Singapore, so it is still considered still new here.

Anyway, I still hope everyone have fun in Halloween parties, but I seriously hope all the 'scaring' actions can keep it inside the party compound. Not many kids knows 'Treats or Trick'.

据我弟媳所叙述,她吵着要到上海去见Uncle(爸爸的朋友)。

I just came back from a wedding dinner in Goodwood Park. Jacqueline is Susanna's niece and she joined us in a few classes in the gym. Sometimes, when we have gatherings in Susanna's place, she will join us too.

Frankly speaking, I was going as a replacement for Pfeiffer. She and Nana were to represent the gym gang to attend Jacqueline's wedding dinner, whereas the rest of us were invited to attend the church wedding yesterday. However, Pfeiffer was so sick today, that she could not be there, so Susanna called me in the morning, and asked me if I can attend instead.

So Nana and I went, and it turned out that we had a great time! We had 2 guests from Denmark and they are really fun people. We cracked jokes and had fun trying to explain, how the wedding take places in Singapore. And why everyone has to stand up and shout 'Yum Seng' three times, etc.

The most enjoyable part of the dinner is actually the waiter. The waiter who served us tonight, happened to be his first day of work. So he was actually very nervous. His hands shivered when he was serving us, and for the first time, I see a person perspires so much while distributing yam paste. He was so busy running in and out of the kitchen, and serving us drinks, and he was trying his best to keep his cool, because his hands trembled so much while he was distributing food on plates and bowls. And best part is, he kept running into the kitchen, because he tend to forget to bring out the ladle to serve shark fins soup, or tongs to serve dishes, or spoons for us to eat our food.

Fortunately, it was a all ladies table, and we are all very patient with him. We actually joked that he might decided to quit after tonight. We found out very much later, that our table was the last to leave, as we got our food later than others. Hahaha!

Anyway, I was quite happy with the dinner tonight, though I am just a replacement. Fun experience!

Driving Licence

We were into the topic of getting a car accidents during lunch today.

Li Ching was telling us, that her sister who just got her driving licence at that time, actually had a car accident. She stopped at a slope and wanting to turn right. It was a manual car then and the car slided backwards and hit on to the bus behind her instead. Her sister is one 'garang' kind, she just said, 'Oh the bus hit our car!!!' And she drove away. Hahaha! Admired her guts!

After that, we said if the car hit a tree or something, the driver might still have to pay for it, because it is a public property.

I told everyone, 'Hmm, if I actually have the car accident during my driving test many years ago, I could have knock down 2 tresses and hit on the bus stop or lamp post, because at that time, I was tested on emergency brake. Instead of stepping on the brake when he hit the front of the car, I stepped on the accelerator!!!' Hahaha!!!

Gillian and June birthdays happened to be the same day, which falls on this Friday this year. Every year, the both of them will take turn to go on leave, so we will celebrate their birthday in advance.

Due to miscommunication breakdown, we thought both of them will be on leave for the next 2 days, so we decided to have the cake cutting celebration today.

As per normal, one of us has to bring the birthday girl somewhere and the rest of us will prepare the cake, candles, camera and standby. So today, Shufen was assigned to bring Gillian somewhere else while we get prepared. (June was busy keying at her table, so she was safe, no need to send someone to guard her.)

However, Shufen brought Gillian to the pantry, getting her ice cream. So Joelle, Candy and myself started to gather to prepare for the cake. Then!!! We realised that the cake was at the pantry too! How to get the cake out with Gillian standing there? The 3 of us looked at each other and laughed out loud. In order not to cause suspicious, Shufen has to bring Gillian to look for paper cups for the ice cream.

Best part was, the 'green leaves' are stuck in some requests by boss, so Shufen has to stall the time for all of us. And the paper cups are running out, she still have to prevent Gillian from suspecting anything. (Clap hands for Shufen!!!)

The celebration still went on successfully, and we all have a great laugh!

Love my airtime friends...

Market Research

The Market Research team shifted office last Friday. They keep telling me to visit them at the new office, and I replied, 'Sure! When you have something nice for me to eat! Hahaha'

Their corner is one of my pantry corner. I will go over to look for them whenever I feel like munching something, or wanting to destress. Chatting with them can be very fun, because I always like to tease Amelia, Wendy and Anthea. Lilian always keep her cool.

Lilian is very nice person. I think she is the only person I met, who will learn skills so eagerly. I ever went to her for help on an issue which she could not solve. Instead of telling me that she did not know how to do it, and leave me to find remedy myself, she went to Yvonne (ex staff) and asked her the way. As Yvonne was teaching me, Lilian stood behind us and learned together with me. Another thing that I like Lilian is, she will tell me, there are new varieties of tidbits or biscuits and asks me to help myself at her table. Hahaha! Food really matters!!!

Wendy is one of the people who follows my blog closely. Though she seldom comments, but she will tell me to update my blog whenever she sees me not blogging for days. And she is very helpful too! Whenever I can't run certain datas on TNS, she is one of the person whom I will call for help, other than Amelia.

Amelia... We have a secret name for each other, which is inconvenient to reveal here. We started off from sharing information on the shows we catching online. We will tell each other what is nice and what to look out for, however, we stopped, partly I had not much time after that. She is also one of the helpful person who will come to my rescue whenever I have problem with my TNS.

Anthea is 'key person' whenever I need to borrow a Canon camera battery. It happens that we both use the same model of Canon Camera and she has a spare battery. Another thing about her that plant into my mind is, she is a very pink person. Imagine what you can find on her table. Pink files, pink magazine holders, pink phone, pink keyboard, pink notepads, pink pen holder. (Anthea, don't argue that you changed them to black now, but my memory stayed with the pinky things you have, Haha!) Oh! for your information, Anthea is the murderer of SpongeBob Square Pants. (Please refer to my previous blog on this case.)

Will miss them dearly... Though they will be sitting at Annex building now, hope we won't get drifted apart. I will go and disturb them whenever I have to run an errand in Annex building.

A Honest Mistake?

Came across the news on Ch 8 just now.

The emcee of Australia Next Top Model Grand Finals had wrongly announced the name of the winner, right in front of the camera, broadcasting her mistake to the whole world! (You know, when Cable TV and Internet, nothing escape our eyes.) Furthermore, it's a live telecast show, and there is no way they can make remedy. In the end, the contestants had to console her and said it's just a Honest Mistake.

This brought me back to an incident I seen during my GRO job many years back. As mentioned previously, I am working as a GRO for part time in MediaCorp.

One day, I was scheduled to work for a Singapore Model Finals (Something like that, I can not remember the exact competition name). That night, the 2 emcees were someone who are still quite popular now in Singapore Entertainment business. (Both in Top 10 Popular Male and Female Artistes ok).

Everything went smooth until the announcing the winner. The result was sent out to stage to both of them. The guy and the girl were looking at the result before they called out the name. And then, they announced the winner. The so called winner was super happy and hugged her 'rival' on stage, getting ready to receive her tiara when the judges suddenly grabbed the mic and said, 'No! Wrong! She is not the winner.'

Fortunately, it was a pre-recorded show, and remedy could be made. The real winner was called up again, and the '30 secs' winner could not hide her disappointment on her face. The 2 emcees did not stay for the post reception after that.

I won't be surprised too. Imagine there were so many 'big shots' in the theatre. CEOs of Sponsor, invited MD of big companies to grace the event, and they made a Honest Mistake in front of the whole world.

Still guessing who right? Don't tell you...

Stressful GRO Job

People who knows me, know I am working as a GRO (Guest Relationship Officer) as part time in MediaCorp.

As a GRO, our job is to bring audiences into the theatre and prevent any access of unauthorised people into places they can not go into. Haha! Our most important role is to guide audiences to a safe place, if fire occurs.

I will blog more about it the next time. Now, I would like to say, tonight I had the most stressful experience of all my GRO years.

Uncle Robin and Uncle Max are our experienced GRO among us. They started many years earlier than Niang Niang and myself. We had recording for 'One Moment of Glory' in the theatre. As usual, Uncle Robin went to draw the keys out from security, since they arrived at the reception first.

When Shufen and I arrived, he said he had been walking around while waiting for us. So we got to work immediately, trying to get audiences ready, while waiting for approval from the producer to let them in. After we have successfully brought all the audiences in, Uncle Robin suddenly ran down from B1 to B3 and asked me if I am holding any of the keys, which I did not. The same goes to Shufen and Vivien, who is also working with us.

After he made a report with the security, we were told that he had to pay for the replacement of the locks at the door. This is very sad, considering he is very old and work part time as GRO for extra cash. This will means that the GRO job tonight is considered a free service he gave out, and maybe he has pay more for the locks at the door could be quite expensive.

Throughout the whole recording, we had been looking out for the key. Shufen and I went up and down the stairs and try our best to find, and every possible places we think the key could have dropped.

Never had I feel so stressed before. At one hand, we are feeling sad for him for loosing the key and try to find it. On the other hand, we were trying to think of the best way to lead the audiences out of the theatre when the recording ended.

Fortunately, at the very last min, just before the show ended, the security called and said the key has been found. At least, he did not need to pay for locks anymore. All of us felt so relieves.

Yao Man - 3

I would like to sincerely apologise to Yao Man on the photocopier issue.

She was made the scapegoat for the incident. The real culprit is actually Bee Cheng! She pulled the side door out and managed to put it back, and the next person who pulled it out is Yao Man. Poor girl! She was made the scapegoat for so many days.

We had dinner with Yao Man, Wilmay and Bee Cheng one night, and we realised Yao Man is one person we must bring her out for meal if we want big portion of the food. Haha! Every time she placed order, the portion will be very big, but when the rest of us went to order, it will always come back in smaller portion.

Anyway, Yao Man seems to be having some problem lately, because she does not seems to smile much. Though I tried to cheer her up, by doing silly things, her laughter did not really come back.

Hope everything will be settled for her asap, and she can go back to that 'Hey, I am a Man' person soon!

Can you find me?

I wore a green dress to work today, and it blended in beautifully with the plants downstairs. So I decided to take a picture of myself among them.

Can you find me?

Hehehe!

'Man'

A group of students board the bus.

As the seats beside me were empty, they started to fill them up.

Guy A gave his seat to his Girlfriend B, and Girl C sat down beside her.

Guy D, E and F took the rest of the seats. Seeing that no more seats available, Girl G stood at the side.

Guy D looked up and asked Girl G, 'Oh! you have no seat, you want to sit down?'

Girl G said, 'It's ok.'

Guy D replied, 'Lucky!'

So 'MAN' hor? Don't understand what's wrong with them now.

Yao Man - 2

Yao Man proved herself to be a man last week.

Guess you will never know what she has done.

She pulled out the side door of the photocopier and there is no way we could not put it back again. As the photocopier is one of the most important assets in the office, (It's job scope are fax, photocopy, scan, and print, so basically everyone will be using it.) we tried to fix it ourselves so it can get back to service immediately.

So the Canon Man is called in (who has just left our office not long ago). 'Aiyoh! why use so much strength? Just pull out gently and remove the jammed paper can already...'

Well, Yao Man must have eaten spinach that day.

Been to this Thai Restaurant, recommended by Mak a few times, and I keep telling myself, I must share this place in my blog. However, I always forget to take pictures, and I think the food are really worth sharing. Taken the opportunity that I had a dinner gathering with my gym gang, these were the food that we ordered individually and side dishes for all to share.

As you can see, we ordered a feast fit for a king. Highly recommended by me will be the Thai Ice Tea. Yummy yummy, it is so authentic and you can feel tea going down your throat smoothly (you know what I mean?)

Pandan chicken is another dish that we always order when we go there. As you can see the picture at the top, everyone grabbed one before I can take a pic of it. Chicken wings are another must order dish, fried till golden brown, but still juicy at the inside. (Hmm... drooling now)

However, the desserts are always selling like hotcakes, so there are times that sticky rice with mango, or sweet potatoes are not available. We actually order in advance, so I managed to take a picture that night.

The shop is actually quite small, and there is another Thai Restaurant beside it. However, I hope you can find the correct one, and give it a try. See the feast we had, there were 12 of us, and we only pay $14 per person. Super worth it right?

Enjoy!!!

Behind The Job

Was watching Behind The Job with my mama just now.

At first, I was having dinner and I heard the opening scene on the TV from the living room. I was like, 'Aiyoh! At this timing!!!' (Watched the episode of the crocodile part when Mark Lee was cleaning, so I can imagine what I will see too.)

As expected, I heard a lot of 'sound of disgusted' from Bryan Wong, so it means there are lots of scenes which I do not want to see. Haha.

Anyway, I sat down and watched the variety with my mama, and I really must salute all the cleaners in the whole world. When we are sitting down and disgusted by the 'gross' sight and stench of the rubbish, they have to bear with all these in order to keep the environment clean and nice. Who knows there might be dead rats or animals, and they have to go over and clear everything up.

I know I can not do it. Stench is so far still acceptable, but I sure can not face dead rats!!! Or other dead animals (you know what I mean.)

Salute!!! Clap Clap Clap!!!

iPad

In the car, on the way to dinner with Benjamin, Hazel and Mei Ting.

Me: 'Hazel, lent me your iPad leh.'
Hazel: 'Huh, I never bring leh. So heavy. I don't drive you know'
Benjamin: 'Hazel, you can put in my car you know. Still have room for one more iPad.'

Then Hazel said something that all of us burst out laughing.

Hazel: 'I used a marker pen to write "I" on a pad and put on your car better.'

Hahaha!!!

This August was the worst of all months in my 37 years. Even having chicken pox during CNY were better than this.

I never been to NUH so many times all within a month before. First, my mama had some woman problem, that got me so worried, that I decided to bring her to the hospital for checkup. Fortunately, everything was ok, but I still have to bring her back, at the end of the month for bone scan and other check up.

Then mid August, my papa was knocked down by a lorry, and he stayed in NUH for about 5 days. Made us worried for a few days, because the doctors and nurses kept telling us, that my papa still can not go home, as they wanted to do several tests - blood tests, urine test, brain scan etc.

Ok, finally he was discharged, and returned home with us. However, he complained that he could not get to sleep at night, as he felt pain on the head. Every night, he will walk from the bedroom to the living room, and then to the kitchen to look out of the window, and walked back to the room. Sometimes, he will make a few rounds, and get to sleep at 4am in the morning.

On this last 2nd day of August, he just came back from Cataract Eye Surgeon. Last day of August, my mama's turn to go for the scan.

I hope September will begin very all the good news and good things. I don't want such incidents to happen anymore!!!

Had dinner with MeiMei at 鼎泰丰last night, and we were a bit disappointed after that. Mei Mei and I ever had a very satisfying meal in the restaurant when it opened it's first branch in Singapore.

I remembered, just the 2 of us, we paid $80+ for the whole spread of food. We have different kinds of 小笼包,酸辣汤,排骨面,various types of 小菜 and 甜品. And the waitress actually thought that we ordered too much and informed us, when they actually had a few dishes sold out already. This time, we ordered lesser dishes, but was about $60 too.

However, this time we were disappointed, because what we like tasted different already. 酸辣汤is not sour and spicy at all. When we asked the waitress, if the correct dish was served to us, she told us, now we can add vinegar and chilli sauce ourselves to suit our taste. This is not the what to have this dish! The original taste will be different and the correct feel will not be there!

Then 排骨面tasted so bland. The original feel was not there anymore. Meimei and I had a bowl of noodle each the last time. Last night, both of us don't even want to eat more. Sad...

My first experience with this famous restaurant was in Taipei. We were even amused with the cab driver, who was so excited to send us to there. We just mentioned we wanted to go to 鼎泰丰, but we did not where is the exact location. So we just said we wanted to go there for lunch, and the uncle immediately said, 'Then you must go to the main branch! Quick quick! I send you there.' The next thing we know, we were standing right in front of the restaurant, just in time before the lunchtime!

All the dishes were fantastic! I actually missed the food there when I came back to Singapore. One day, when I passed by a renovating shop at the basement of Paragon, I was overjoyed to see that 鼎泰丰will be opening a branch in Singapore! So for a period of time, I went to the restaurant for meals with different group of friends.

This December, I will be going to Taipei. Hopefully I can have the chance to eat again, and most importantly, the original taste must be there!!!!

After 1 week of hospitalisation, Papa is now at home. (Please refer to previous blog for the reason)

Everyday, when I went to visit him, Papa will ask me, 'Can I go home today?'
And every time, we will get same reply from the doctor. 'Not today, we need to do a blood test / urine test / brain scan etc. tomorrow.' Then papa will give me a very disappointed look.

Anyway, I understand that the hospital need to be very careful, because my papa's injuries are actually at the brain and he is over 70 years old now. So I have to tell him, to just rest well, and don't worry too much.

Actually, standing in papa's shoes, I also know what he is worrying about. At his age, he still has to undergo different kinds of scan and tests. Though results are always good news, but he will still worry that one of tests will give him nightmare. Furthermore, he has to go for so many tests everyday, food in hospital are so bland, on top of it, he can only eat porridge for every meal. This made him want to go home more.

Now he is sleeping in the next room. I know he will wake up in a short while, because the pain start to make him uncomfortable. Hence, he is still happy as his bed is always more comfortable, that's what he told me.

I hope everything will go smoothly for our family after this incident.

Papa, Please Get Well

Been running in and out of NUH these 2 days. My papa got knocked down by a lorry in a car park on Thursday. Scare and tired and anxious, all in one, making me very restless. In just 2 days, I see many things in a small small hospital...

I was told to wait at the waiting area in the A&E section with my mama and didi. I understand that the staff are all very busy people, but waiting time are way too long for anxious families outside. A father pushing his son in the pram, waiting for news of his wife who fell down. Elderly husband walking around with his umbrella like a walking stick, waiting anxiously for the nurse to come out to tell him, what happened to his wife inside. Crying children and grandchildren mourning for their mother and Ah Ma.

When my papa got transferred from the high dependency ward to normal ward today, we are really very relieved. However, the doctor said he still have to stay in the hospital as blood is found between the skull and membrane. So my papa can not be discharged today.

In the normal ward, I see different things this time. 6 people staying in a room, and all from different background. A Malay man looks ill lying on his bed, but the next thing I know, he was discharged when I saw his family walking in. 'I thought he looks very sick???'

On the bed opposite my papa, was a Chinese old man. He looks lonely and sick. The nurse even has to feed him when dinner time. Then, suddenly his family flocked in at about evening time. He is actually not lonely at all! His children and grandchildren had come to visit him.

Have a strong feel that we should not take everything for granted. Time wait for no one and you never know what will happen tomorrow. Enjoy the time with your love ones and enjoy yourself the way you want to be (of course must be legal you know). After my papa discharged, I will bring him out to eat all the good food outside. For the whole of yesterday, he told me, he just had 4 small things, 4 pills.

Yao Man

Hazel, aka Yao Man, tries ways and means to act like a man. Even if I purposely go over to provoke her sometimes, she will give me 'act fierce look' (not fierce looking at all, in actual fact), and give me a punch on my arm.

Once we had lunch together, and we decided to go to the canteen. 3 girls walking together, and she was the first person to take shelter under the shade. Hahaha! And when we reminded her to be man, she walked out to the sun with us quickly.

After lunch, we walked over to the fruit stall to buy fruits, she is the only one who choose Strawberry Yoghurt. After that, she hit herself for choosing a feminine drink.

Yao Man wears dresses to work almost everyday, and paints her nail pink colour. She speaks so softly, and we always wonder how she will quarrel with people.

Stay tune, because I will continue to update more funny incidents about her.

YOG

Singapore hosts the first Youth Olympics ever. When I saw the news broadcast on TV, I just feel 'Wow! Singapore hosting the YOG!' and nothing else.

As the days get nearer, there are booths selling merchandises, promotion events in Orchard Road, and YOG buses on the road. The feeling starts to grow.

I went to the YOG Celebration @ the Marina Bay, and I knew the next day will be the Opening Ceremony of the big event. Suddenly, I feel that the organiser has really done a good job. Many months earlier, a big countdown timer was placed at Orchard Road, performances along Orchard Road, YOG buses test driving, and of course, JJ Lin's frequent appearance on TV with 'Oh Yeah Oh Yeah Oh Yeah, You are the one, Singapore...' (Ahem... I think some like some don't like, but who cares!).

I was watching the swimming competition on TV, in the office, (yes, yes, in the office, but I never stare at the TV, I just watched one match only) and I have a strong sense of pride. Olympics, you know, and all the athletics are in Singapore now!!! I ever thought, when Olympics were held in other countries, people from different countries will flock in and support their athletics. Won't they feel proud? This week, tourists come to this small island, and I have a strong sense of pride, and feel like shouting out, 'Welcome!!!' (Hahaha, a bit crazy right, but it's ok. I am always not normal at the first place.)

Anyway, I hope all our guests will enjoy their stay in Singapore this week, and have fun going to places of interest. Eat, play and shop!

I Love This Feeling!

I really love this feeling.
Seeing the confirmation email from Avia, I know I have something to look forward to. Away from work, away from unpleasant issues, away from things that I do not like to see. I am going to Taipei!
Mak reminded me, we are going to Bangkok in Feb 2011 (Abit far lah, but who cares!). Really really looking forward to it.
I want my holiday!!!

So the mystery of the pingpong ball remained unsolved.

Don't scold me ok, this is how the story suppose to be! Haha!

Happy 45th Birthday Singapore!!!

I just watched the National Day Parade on TV with my family. And it brought me back to us that, we were at the Floating Bay last year for Singapore's 44th birthday! Haha! (Papa said, so fast! One year already. And I realised that the big hand drums from the goodies bags are still sitting nicely on my table. ) Indeed, time passed so fast before we are aware.

Ah Girl next door came over to my place, dressed in red and white, carrying a Singapore flag. I asked her, do you know how to sing a nation song? She sang, 'Singapura, oh Singapura, Sunny Island, Set In the Sea...' I thought that was the song from my era. (Ahem... Excuse Me...)

I still remembered when I was still in Primary School, I brought back biscuits and flags from the school. Then in Secondary School, souvenirs changed to notebooks. The best times for National Day was 'A' Level time, as I got to participate in National Day Parade as cheerleader in the first year, and preparing for National Day Celebration in the second year, because I was a member of the Student Council.

Come to think of it, I ever took part in the National Day Parade as performer too! Haha!!! Very very good memories. And my costume was just a one whole piece, red and white suit! Imagine I have to take off the top every time I want to go to the toilet. And all of us were like scolding the designer in our heart, for not being thoughtful. However, I did feel a sense of lost, after 09 Aug, because I missed meeting up with all the new friends. We gathered together at the People Association every Sunday for 6 months for practice. Too bad, I lost contact with them already. Wonder if they think of me when they watched the parade just now. Haha!

Love you, Singapore!!!

Been to this restaurant a few weeks back, but was too busy to blog about this. (From my previous blogs, you might understand why.) Nice food, so just want to share with all of you.

Hangari Galbi Restaurant is just like those BBQ restaurants you see in Korean Drama. They played Korean Pop Songs (I could still remember hearing Lupin from Kara, Run Devil Run from SNSD, Bonamana from Super Junior etc. at the background.) and serve Korean Tea, and the food are like authentic Korean food. And I bet the boss is also from Korean, because he is a typical Korean look. Hahaha.

Food range are quite a spread, and very flexible with the mix. (Non beef eater and beef eater, can go and share). I did not take many pictures of the food, mainly is because we all start attacking them, as we were really hungry. And by the time I remembered, 3/4 from the bowl is gone. Haha.

Best thing is, you do not need to worry that you will smell after the meal, because the waiter will BBQ the meat for you. Though the stove is beside you, they did a great job of preventing the oil and smoke blowing towards the table. You can just sit down, wait for the food to be served and enjoy. In case you are wondering, price is reasonable. We just pay around $20 plus each, and there was 4 of us.

Staffs are friendly, but the only bad points about them is that the service is really slow. Slow in bringing you to your seat, slow in serving drink, slow to response to your calling, even slow to bring you your bill. Other than that, if you want to have a nice Korean BBQ, you can try this restaurant out.

Had dinner gathering with my gym gang last night, and Prach is in Singapore these 4 days. Suppose to be a very happy event, but something happened that made me very very angry.

Every time we takes pictures, Susanna will definitely go through the pictures and then delete those that she thinks she looks ugly in. This is not the first time, and I have already warned her not to do that, because I do not like it. Everyone is out to have fun, what's wrong with one or two pictures, at most you untag yourself on Facebook, why must you delete the pictures away? You are not a superstar anyway, who will scare your fans will leave you! There are other people in the pictures too! Never spare a thought for the others.

In future, I am going to take pictures for everyone except her! Unless it is a group photo, I will not take any picture of her with the rest of the gang. Since she likes to delete, I will not take. She is not have any pictures of herself with the gang in all the gatherings!

And no one is allowed to touch my camera. See the pictures in the Facebook after I have upload everything.

Be Good To Myself

After some super busy and hectic weeks, I totally lost control over my personal life. Miss my gym, miss dinner gathering with friends, miss dinner with my parents too! All I have was to drag myself to work everyday, came back late at night, and still working, Next day, the cycle goes again.

I told myself, this is not right. So I left the office early for 2 days, without any work in the bag. The feeling was like heaven!!! I do not have to think of what time I can pack up and sleep at night, do not have to think what time I must reach home to do my work, do not have to think how to explain the report to my boss.

I want to go back to my gym life. Even if it will be just one hour of Yoga, or one hour of Pump. I have been stress to a limit that I know my smiles and laughters are gone.

This is not me!!!! From now on, I want to be Carmen!

Saturday, July 31, 2010

Frankly speaking, I left the office at a very foul mood last night.

I did my portion of work, chasing for approval and getting things on the right track, but I realised more and more things keep coming to me, making it my fault when there is a hiccups. I have my limits of endurance.

Been working in the office, everyday, till late. It's is very depressing to see people leaving one by one, but I just can't!!! Everything has to be done, everyone wants something. And bear in mind, there is only ONE Carmen. Is it my fault that there is only one support staff in our group? Is it my fault that, the management don't want to get another support staff?
I work late for the group every night, but who gets to see? Do I have to publish in the newspaper or run around the office telling people, how late I stayed in the office the previous night? Sometimes when I leave the office on the dot, did they know I bring work home to do? Do I have to send sms to everyone at 3am in the morning, to tell them, I just updated an expenditure update or planned a media schedule??? Like that, then my hard work will get acknowledged? Work so hard for what.

Ever been to the doctor for chest pain, and he said, I overworked. I should relax and give myself a rest. CAN I??? How to relax when everyone is breathing down my neck. and getting into my nerve? How to rest when emails keep coming in without ending?

Maybe it's time for me to leave... I have accepted the fact that I am the only support staff in the group, so I just put in 101% and work. HOWEVER, NO ONE APPREACIATE!!! Maybe I am too naive to believe that...

Very very tired... very very depressed...

Battle with Time

Time started : 8am

I started the day changing slides for my boss for his 8.45pm presentation. Upon completing, I bind 3 copies and went to set up for the meeting. Since then I think, my work has never stop for the day except for lunch.

Running adex, writing order forms, downloading tvcs, chasing reports, doing reports, calling production house, updating datas, catching hold of managers and team leaders to get informations.

Mad rush here and there. See numbers and files... Sometimes I wonder, what has I done to deserve this.
Clock out : 9.30pm

I am dead tired...

Gift from Hokkaido

A gift from Hokkaido. The handphone accessory is so cute!

Thank you Ben!

I did a recording for One Moment of Glory last night and saw something which angered me.

A couple brought their baby girl to the recording. By right, we have the right to reject their entry as it is stated on the ticket that children under 6 years old are not allow during recording. However, we decided to let them in, provided that the baby and maid to be seated at the side.

I was rather disturbed of what I saw actually. The parents were happily seated with their friends, cheering and playing, leaving the baby with the maid seated at one side. We moved her up to the higher seat, where it will not be too bright, and the noise is not too loud.

How can they leave their baby aside??? The baby is still an infant, so small and delicate. They should know that bright lights and loud noises are no good for an infant!!! So what if you think you are modern parents, a baby is still a baby, regardless he is born 2010, 2011 or 2020!!! How do you expect a modern baby be? Imagine the baby start talking to you the next day he is born, and say 'Hi Mummy, I am finally here. Can I have some milk please? Chocolate favour will be nice.'

A baby still has to go through the process of growing up. He must eat and sleep a lot to grow. He must get used to lights bit by bit, sound little by little. Then start to grow bigger and taller. Last night, everyone are cheering for their friends, and they are making as much noise as possible. Imagine how the baby can take it. If anything happen to the baby's hearing, won't the parents feel guilty???

Worst thing is, the mother can even tell us, at the later part of the show, that her baby is only 3 weeks old!!!! Goodness!!!

Does they know what they are doing???

New Trend?

Last night, I was at 313@ Orchard with some friends, and an interesting scene amused me.

I bet all of you know, what is walking a dog.

For the first time in my life, I saw with my very own eyes, someone walking a cat.

The plump, flurry cat walked down Orchard Road, with head high. It seems to be enjoying the looks of all the people around it, just like the owner. Cat walk! So this is how the word came from.

Somehow, with a bit of amusement, I also feel bad for the cat. Normally cats are treated like royalty, but this cat walked down the road with the chain attached.

Should have taken a picture...

Stars

Was watching Entertainment News on KBS last night, and it reported the passing on of Actor Park Yong Ha. He was found died in his own room by his mother. All his friends said he kept to himself a lot, and no one sense that he was actually facing deep problems of his own.

As there are many cases of Korean stars taking their own life, the host said something that left deep impression.

'Everyone want to be a star, but only 1% can make it. A star looks very glamorous on the outside, but he can be the most lonely person in the world. He does not have many friends, people around him are mostly artistes, which tabloid are forever eyeing on juicy news. And if he gets betrayed by his 'trusted friend', it causes him to fall into deeper despair.'

This is quite depressing. Everyone idolised on the job, but they never see the hard work behind it. This does not only applies to artistes in Korea, but everywhere in the whole world. Lost of freedom in almost everything. Can not express themselves freely, as the media will jump onto any mistakes they said, can not put on weight (unless they were debuted right at the start), as they might lost fans who idolise their looks. Can not make friends easily, as they do not know these people are really friends, or just making use of them.

I am glad that I am just who I am.

It is my mama's birthday tomorrow, so I applied for a day off to bring my parents out for lunch. Had few restaurants in mind, which serve nice dim sum, recommended by friends in the office. In the end, none was chosen. Haha. My parents said they want to go West Coast Plaza instead. We ended up in 清香馆.

It is located at the basement of West Coast Plaza. At first, I was not very interested in it. It does not have any interesting dishes. Not a very big place with privacy, but we went in still.

Pardon me for not taking any pictures, as I thought there was nothing special in the dishes (which I regretted). Never have I expected that they will give such big serving. The chef must be in super good mood today. Haha. Gosh! My mama and I could not even finished our own noodles. And the food were really delicious. My papa gave thumbs up for the 葱油饼 and 小笼包, and he even wanted to order another set. (Love to see them enjoying the food.)

For the drinks, I received another surprise. We ordered 菊花茶, as the choices are quite limited. When the waitress brought our drinks to the table, I felt that it looked like plain water. It does not have that brownish colour which we normally see. However, a sip of the drink, you can taste the strong taste of the tea. My mama said, this means the drink is made from high quality 菊花.

Never judge the book by it's cover. The place seems to be very isolated at one corner, but the food was really good. Simple dishes, but they can definitely bring smiles to your face.

We met an elderly uncle in Bishan Multistorey carpark.

He forgot where he parked his car. Though he has noted down the number and level where he parked, the thing is that car park does not have any number indicated on the floor. This showed that Bishan Junction 8 Carpark was not the one he parked at the first place.

No matter what we asked him, he could not remember anything. Jeremy went to walk one round in the Level 2 carpark, he could not even find a car that matched his description. In the end, we brought him up to the Information Counter, and asked for help. We left only when we knew he would be in good hands.

This actually leads me to think... What if it happened to my parents? What if it happened to me when I grow old? Senior citizens tense to forget things easily. Or maybe forget where is home? I am really worried. I just hope that people will be kind enough to help these senior citizens. Don't forget, everyone will be old one day.

Too Fast Too Furious!

In my previous blog, I mentioned that I bought a Fred Perry Bag from Kinokuniya. The next day, Mei Teng brought it to the office. Good things must share, so we showed the new toy to the rest of the gang in the office. Gillian likes it so much, that we decided to rush down to Bugis Branch to try our luck.

Gillian showed us her skillful driving technique and alertness. She is now my Heroine! Woohoo! Although we were driving at a high speed, Gillian can be very alert with the surroundings. As I was sitting beside her, I actually felt like I was on a roller coaster. However, I was not worried or scared, because Gillian is very attentive during driving.

At one of the traffic lights, we continued to move on when the Green Light is on. Suddenly, this Indian man dashed across the road, and we nearly knocked him down by a very close margin. Fortunately, Gillian braked the car in time, and the man quickly ran across. This stupid man should feel super lucky, as he still keep his life.

We were like so close, that I could see him, flying off slightly, and his hand touching the car. Imagine Gillian had not braked in time, he will be sent flying across with great force. I don't understand... Can't you wait for a few minutes at the side for the green man to appear then you can cross the road? I believe he can spare a few minutes of his life at the side. Don't they ever think, that their family members wll be super upset if anything happen to him. Angry!!! Stupid Indian man!!!

Gillian, you are a heroine!!!!

This is not a bowl of udon here. Believe it or not, this is actually a CAKE. A client sent this to Niang Niang's boss in appreaciation of their hardwork for their help. The egg here are actually jelly and the noodle are fresh cream. Fish cake, meat and vegetables are all made of jelly!!! And if you notice, it even provide you chopsticks and spoons, which are made from chocolates.

Previously, I ever blogged about a mahjong cake. It actually came from the same confectionery. I am really impressed with the cakes and pastries. Maybe I will order one for my niece's One Year Old birthday.

Yummy Yummy!!!

And I got this from Kinokuniya!!!

It takes 2 hands to clap

I was on a GRO for Beast (A Korean Boy Group, in case you are wondering what are they) Showcase at the MediaCorp Theatre last night, and I encountered this situation. Their fans turned up for the event with great excitement. Some even came in the afternoon of the day before the showcase and spent the night at the car park, so they would get the best seat right in front of their idol

However, there were fans who came on time, but found themselves right at the end of the quene. Plus the hot weather and long wait, their patience sort of wear off... In addition to that, the theatre was filled up with screaming fans in no time and the security officers refused to let people inside due to safety reason. (You know, in case of fire and everyone run at the same time, this is very dangerous. So must keep to the number always). Therefore, these frustrated fans make a lot of noise, complaining why waited so long, why can not go into the theatre, how come they were watching from the TV, instead of live from the theatre.

Floor managers and security officers were trying to solve the problem, so I was pushed up front to face the angry fans. Before I could say anything, these fans raised their voices, and shouted at me, demanding me for explanation, because they missed the first 2 performance of their idol. They demanded to see the management, organiser, officer in charged. At that point of time, I was thinking, if Beast will to see this situation, will they be happy to see their fans shouting and scolding us for 'safety reasons'? Will they understand that fans came to see them, but in dangerous conditions?

Frankly speaking, I wondered I was too tired, or suddenly my EQ become very high. I simply stood in front of them, telling them in a very calm tone, that shouting at me would not get them any seats in the theatre. The Floor Managers and security officers were all trying their best, so everyone will just have to wait patiently. After that I choose to smile at every question asked, and replied, 'We just have to wait.'

Fortunately, the problem was solved very fast, and fans was directed to some areas opened up by the security officers. Some fans still wanted to stay outside and demand to speak to the management. I think at the point of time, maybe they wanted to beat me up, because I simply shook my head and told them, 'If you still want to make a fuss now, you will still be standing here till the end of the show, and you will never get to see them too. Might as well, go inside settle down, you can still watch them performed.' In the end, all of them went in to theatre and watched the rest of the show.

GROs always encountered this problem in programme recording, especially when there are very famous celebrities coming in. It takes 2 hands takes clap. No point shouting at each other, and make matter worse. When only one party is starting a fight, the other party remained silent. The fight will never continue....

Recently I had been seeing rats running around, at the drains and pathways. I am not exaggerating, they are not only one or two, but they can be very big family from grandparents to young siblings. These big rats appear anytime of the day and night.

Once, I was walking home from the bus stop (broad daylight ok!), a super brave rat dashed cross the road, and there were cars driving at the same time. (Dont ask me why, I dont not know the reason, and I never will be interested to find out, and yes! I can see it, you can imagine how big the rat is).

Then, there was another time, I saw several rats scurrying at the little piece of grassland beside the carpark. Normally I will see elderly sitting down at the benches there, chit chatting, or maybe grandparents with their grandchildren waiting for their parents to come home from work. What if the rats bite the kids??? Oh no no no. I don't want to imagine that.

I seen cats at the void deck, but I think the rats are bigger than the cats now. They can not chase these unwanted creatures away. Maybe I should write a letter to complain, but to who???

Super Junior In Singapore

I know this is a little late, but I believe it should be ok.
SingTel launched their Galaxy Showcase on 6 June 10. As the Telecommunication sector is handled by my sales group, I got to attend the event at Marina Bay Sands with my Team Head and manager. Needless to say, the whole place is filled with fans. Despite of the absences of the 4 other members, the rest put in a very good performance. They took the stage very naturally, (of cos right? They are so popular and experience). Anyway, I enjoyed myself also, but what bothered me was what I seen outside the hall, before the showcase started.

I was waiting for Kelvin and Andrea (Team head and manager lah) outside the hall, and I can see a lot of young girls standing at the entrance. Obviously, these people did not have an entry pass for the showcase. They just stood there, trying their luck if there was a chance to get last min pass or catch a glimpse of their favourite idol.

I noticed that, whenever someone walked out, mentioning about extra pass, or someone said something like getting passes for people outside the hall, they will just crowd around the person, and he/she was a total stranger.

I overheard a man saying out loud, beside the fans. 'Want to go to the showcase har? I see if I can get extra pass.' Suddenly the girls, from all corners surrounded him, calling him Daddy, Brother, and everything. I mean, must you go all the way to that extend? The guy was also trying to be funny, making a phone call right away and asked for passes. In less than 5 minutes, he just turned to everybody and said, 'No more. Only 1 for me!'

Seeing this, I was thinking, if the man really took out an extra pass, and requested for a indecent proposal, will anyone take it up? Does it really worth it, just to see Super Junior. I believe there might be someone there, who will agree. She might have thought that her idol is worth her sacrifices. However, I believe all idols will not want their fans to do that for them.

A short term happiness will lead to regrets of a lifetime.

Never Lost Your Value

I forget where I heard this from, but I think this is very meaningful.

A teacher is teaching her D Class students, and all of them has lost interest in her lecture. So she made everyone sit up straight instead of lying down.

Student A : 'Teacher, why are you wasting your time? We are all from D class. No one will score high in our examination.'

After hearing this, she took a brand new $50 note from her wallet and show it to the whole class.

'What is this, Class?' The teacher asked.

'$50, of course!' replied Student B.

'How does it look like?'

Student C : 'It's a crispy brand new note. Why?'

The teacher starts to crumple it, and opened it up.

'What is this, Class?' She asked again.

'Crumpled $50 note' Student D said, thinking she will ask how does it looked like again.

The teacher throw the note on the floor and stepped on it hard. After that, she picked it up, wipe away the dust on the note, and showed it to the class again.

'What do you think this is now?'

'$50' The whole class answered.

'See, no matter how I crumpled it, stepped on it, it is still a $50. It has never lost it's value. It applies to our life too. Others may looked down on us, stepped on us, discouraged us, but you are what you are. Your value is still the same. Other gives your respect, and you set your own value. You know what you are.'

Sometimes we might feel disheartened, on what happened to us. However, stay positive. We will prove our value.

A New Life

Was on the bus to Orchard today, and noticed a pair of young couple board the bus. I do not know them at all, but I somehow could sense an aura of happiness from them. They are not really good looking, but the guy had that happy smile on his face that can not be missed. Anyway, no matter how kpo I am, I can not go over and asked them mah. So I just sat at my seat and continue my journey.

As the people sitting in front of me alighted, they shifted their seat. Then, I understand why the young couple has the radiant smile on the face. They were looking at the ultrasound pic of their unborn baby. Yaya, I know I very kpo, but I can't help but peeped over their shoulder and looked mah. Actually I feel very happy for them. At that point of them, I feel like saying, Congrats!!!

Think this kind of feeling, I will never know how it is feel like...

Gillian bought me an umbrella from Hong Kong, and she said, I must tweet and blog about it.

Anyway, I tweet about the gift this morning. So here is the blog.

Gillian went to Hong Kong last weekend, and I told her I like those cute umbrellas that they sell in 女人街. If she will to shop there, maybe she can help me get one back to Singapore.

So here I have, a Tinkerland print umbrealla!! It is not only cute, it is also very light. I love it, it can be kept in my bag, and I can carry it easily. Lijun said, I have to be careful on rainy days, I might got blown away by the strong wind. Tinkerbell print really very cute. If you see a lady carrying a Tinkerbell umbrella on rainy days, ya, that's me. Hahaha!

Thank you Gillian!!! Muack!!!

Think Before You Leap

My papa's 金龙鱼did a high jump just now, and it successfully landed in the floor. (I think hor, Olympics Games or SEA Games should gave it a medal, you know. It jumped higher than we thought it could.) After that, it flipped all the way from the living room to the kitchen door. No worries ok, my papa managed to save it and put it back into the fish tank.

I was looking at it from the side, while my papa is trying to pick it up from the floor. Not that, I don't want to help, I don't know how to help. So the best thing is not to get into the way. At that point of time, I heard my papa said, '你想自杀吗?'. I was thinking, maybe the fish wanted to reply my papa, '我后悔了.'

Whenever a decision is made, we said never mind. At most reset and do all over again. However, when something happen beyond our control, we can not reset and redo. I believe the fish was thinking, how would it be outside the tank? At most, jumped into the tank again. And it never realised that it can never jump back into the tank anymore, unless someone gave it a helping hand. Real life situation is the same too. We might be doom, when we realised there is no reset in the whole situation. And there is no one around us, to help us a helping hand.

Anyway, I think it was very fortunate that my papa was at home when it made the high jump. I will not know what to do. Maybe I can only look at it with teary eyes, crying out when I see it's last breathe... (Choy choy)

Let's see what kind of 福, this 金龙鱼 will have.

My Leno

Introducing my new notebook, G460!!! I have decided to name it Leno. Hehehe.

Very impressed with it's functions and images. Think it will take me some time to explore what it can do for me. Till now, I found out it has 3D preview (cool hor?), sticky note (like post it pad, but on desktop, environment friendly), wide screen (really wide lor, my desktop wallpaper looks a bit funny now, because the guys' faces are stretched out! Hahaha!).

Been feeling so bored for the past few days, can not msn, can not update blog, can not go into tweeter and facebook. Everyone is asking me to buy an iPhone, but I still think a new laptop is more suitable. Hazel is so nice to lend me her iTouch, to pass time. In the end, I played games until 1am every night. Fortunately, I can still wake up the next day to go to work. Hahaha! Now I might consider getting an iTouch instead.

I am back in action!!!

So bored...

I was wondering, do I depend on internet too much, or internet has invaded into my life totally. My dearest lappie, has failed on me. For the past 4 years, I been playing with msn every night, active in facebook, and tweetering with my friends. Suddenly, all these things can not be done. I feel so lost, for a moment, I do not know how should I pass the night. Hahaha! Now i have to tweet and blog using my Nokia baby, Super Swee.  Just like the owner. (Whistle - wee wee)  Miss my lappie! Ai! why must things start to spoil, when I have very tight budget... Do i really must drink water for meal? Ai...

Far Far Away...

Was msning with Hazel, saying I will have no dinner tonight. My parents went out pak-toring, leaving me home alone, with a twisted neck. (No worries, I am fine, Just a bit painful, if I turn my head too fast. A lesson to learn, don't 假厉害, don't carry weights that is too heavy for myself. Hahaha)

Hazel : So you can go downstairs for dinner later?

Me : My place downstairs has nothing to eat.

Hazel : Oh. Then how?

Me : I have to go far far away to buy. Maybe I can get Shrek or Fiona to buy for me?

Hazel : Hahaha! They can send Puss In Boots.

Me : Who knows, they might just send Ginger Bread Man. Hahaha!!!

Hazel : Aiyah. On the way to your house, he might be eaten up by Puss. Hahaha!

Ok, a bit bo liao. Just think it's funny. Hahaha!

I have a friend, Chen Wei Qian, who I admired her courage for pursuing her dreams. She has a passion for music since she was a teenager. Worked for music company, and event companies all these while, and I feel that she is always in the entertainment business.

Many of us would have given up after we turned 25 to pursue our dream. We could be have focus on making money to support ourselves, and forget about what we want to do at the very first place. All these time, we kept in touch using Msn, and I know she been busying working.

One day, Wei Qian msn me to say, she is releasing an EP. I am really happy for her, because I know she must have put in lots of effort. She has been composing songs, and I always have the honour to see it first. Frankly speaking, when I first received the CD from her, I am very touched, though I did not show it. The feel of the songs inside, was just like the lyrics sent to me last night for checking and suggestion. Now they are really recorded into a CD and everyone can hear it.

I always can not feel the 'sincerity' in an album whenever an artiste mentioned during interview. After the launch, I can feel it now, as I heard the songs. It took her many months composing and amending just one song, and after that imagine how many times she has to sing in the recording studio. Now I get what they mean by that.

Kindly show your support if you can.

Thank you everyone!

78/100

I was on the way to office on Bus 165 this morning, when I noticed a teacher marking papers beside me.

I could not recognise the school badge, so I could not tell which school it was from. The teacher was marking the Math test paper and shaking her head at the same time. Occassionally I heard a soft sign. I must say, I was just curious lah, not kpo ok, I peeped at the paper she was marking. There was a number of crosses and ticks. The poor boy made quite a number of careless mistakes. In the end, he only got 78/100, and I saw the teacher put a remark, 'Very bad'.

I was thinking, I was very weak in Math. my teacher must have been shaking his/her head when they were marking my Math paper too. In my memory, other than Kindergarten, I never score 100 in my Maths paper at all. Hahaha!

Till now, I can not do mental sum too. If the numbers get too complicated, I will still give the wrong answers! Hahaha!!!

To all the students, 加油!

A mystery case happened in MediaCorp today.

A motionless body of Spongebob Square Pants (Male, Age: Unknown) was found lying at the rooftop of rubbish chute in the morning. Based on the witnesses at the scene, it was last seen sitting at Anthea's table, TV Airtime Sales, last Friday. As the Sales Conference was held on that day at the Regent Hotel, only sales admin executives were in the office. Eye witness No. 1, Miss Wendy Foo, saw Anthea bringing Spongebob to the pantry to Auntie Elizabeth.

The mishap happened after that, as the last witness left the office at 4pm, and have seen nothing.

Spongebob was found lying face down, arm under it's body. First thought of the mishap was the suicide of Spongebob itself. However, Dectative Wilmay gave us her thought after close inspection. Based on the measurement from the wall to the chute rooftop, the distance was too far for the body to be landed. She declared it to be a murder case. Further investigation was to be conducted, to solve the mystery.

Many hours later, Spongebob case was declared closed, as it was a FALSE ALARM!!!

Spongebob Square Pants is just sun bathing.

See the bright smile on his face?

Hahaha! Spongebob was discharged by Anthea because it was very dusty. Think Auntie just wanted to throw it away, but leave it at the roof top first. All of us find it very amusing. I will think of it, whenever I see the cartoon or stuff toys selling in department stores.

Will miss you!!! Hahaha!!!
