Came across the news on Ch 8 just now.
The emcee of Australia Next Top Model Grand Finals had wrongly announced the name of the winner, right in front of the camera, broadcasting her mistake to the whole world! (You know, when Cable TV and Internet, nothing escape our eyes.) Furthermore, it's a live telecast show, and there is no way they can make remedy. In the end, the contestants had to console her and said it's just a Honest Mistake.
This brought me back to an incident I seen during my GRO job many years back. As mentioned previously, I am working as a GRO for part time in MediaCorp.
One day, I was scheduled to work for a Singapore Model Finals (Something like that, I can not remember the exact competition name). That night, the 2 emcees were someone who are still quite popular now in Singapore Entertainment business. (Both in Top 10 Popular Male and Female Artistes ok).
Everything went smooth until the announcing the winner. The result was sent out to stage to both of them. The guy and the girl were looking at the result before they called out the name. And then, they announced the winner. The so called winner was super happy and hugged her 'rival' on stage, getting ready to receive her tiara when the judges suddenly grabbed the mic and said, 'No! Wrong! She is not the winner.'
Fortunately, it was a pre-recorded show, and remedy could be made. The real winner was called up again, and the '30 secs' winner could not hide her disappointment on her face. The 2 emcees did not stay for the post reception after that.
I won't be surprised too. Imagine there were so many 'big shots' in the theatre. CEOs of Sponsor, invited MD of big companies to grace the event, and they made a Honest Mistake in front of the whole world.
Still guessing who right? Don't tell you...

People who knows me, know I am working as a GRO (Guest Relationship Officer) as part time in MediaCorp.
As a GRO, our job is to bring audiences into the theatre and prevent any access of unauthorised people into places they can not go into. Haha! Our most important role is to guide audiences to a safe place, if fire occurs.
I will blog more about it the next time. Now, I would like to say, tonight I had the most stressful experience of all my GRO years.
Uncle Robin and Uncle Max are our experienced GRO among us. They started many years earlier than Niang Niang and myself. We had recording for 'One Moment of Glory' in the theatre. As usual, Uncle Robin went to draw the keys out from security, since they arrived at the reception first.
When Shufen and I arrived, he said he had been walking around while waiting for us. So we got to work immediately, trying to get audiences ready, while waiting for approval from the producer to let them in. After we have successfully brought all the audiences in, Uncle Robin suddenly ran down from B1 to B3 and asked me if I am holding any of the keys, which I did not. The same goes to Shufen and Vivien, who is also working with us.
After he made a report with the security, we were told that he had to pay for the replacement of the locks at the door. This is very sad, considering he is very old and work part time as GRO for extra cash. This will means that the GRO job tonight is considered a free service he gave out, and maybe he has pay more for the locks at the door could be quite expensive.
Throughout the whole recording, we had been looking out for the key. Shufen and I went up and down the stairs and try our best to find, and every possible places we think the key could have dropped.
Never had I feel so stressed before. At one hand, we are feeling sad for him for loosing the key and try to find it. On the other hand, we were trying to think of the best way to lead the audiences out of the theatre when the recording ended.
Fortunately, at the very last min, just before the show ended, the security called and said the key has been found. At least, he did not need to pay for locks anymore. All of us felt so relieves.

I would like to sincerely apologise to Yao Man on the photocopier issue.
She was made the scapegoat for the incident. The real culprit is actually Bee Cheng! She pulled the side door out and managed to put it back, and the next person who pulled it out is Yao Man. Poor girl! She was made the scapegoat for so many days.
We had dinner with Yao Man, Wilmay and Bee Cheng one night, and we realised Yao Man is one person we must bring her out for meal if we want big portion of the food. Haha! Every time she placed order, the portion will be very big, but when the rest of us went to order, it will always come back in smaller portion.
Anyway, Yao Man seems to be having some problem lately, because she does not seems to smile much. Though I tried to cheer her up, by doing silly things, her laughter did not really come back.
Hope everything will be settled for her asap, and she can go back to that 'Hey, I am a Man' person soon!

A group of students board the bus.
As the seats beside me were empty, they started to fill them up.
Guy A gave his seat to his Girlfriend B, and Girl C sat down beside her.
Guy D, E and F took the rest of the seats. Seeing that no more seats available, Girl G stood at the side.
Guy D looked up and asked Girl G, 'Oh! you have no seat, you want to sit down?'
Girl G said, 'It's ok.'
Guy D replied, 'Lucky!'
So 'MAN' hor? Don't understand what's wrong with them now.

Yao Man proved herself to be a man last week.
Guess you will never know what she has done.
She pulled out the side door of the photocopier and there is no way we could not put it back again. As the photocopier is one of the most important assets in the office, (It's job scope are fax, photocopy, scan, and print, so basically everyone will be using it.) we tried to fix it ourselves so it can get back to service immediately.
So the Canon Man is called in (who has just left our office not long ago). 'Aiyoh! why use so much strength? Just pull out gently and remove the jammed paper can already...'
Well, Yao Man must have eaten spinach that day.

Been to this Thai Restaurant, recommended by Mak a few times, and I keep telling myself, I must share this place in my blog. However, I always forget to take pictures, and I think the food are really worth sharing. Taken the opportunity that I had a dinner gathering with my gym gang, these were the food that we ordered individually and side dishes for all to share.
As you can see, we ordered a feast fit for a king. Highly recommended by me will be the Thai Ice Tea. Yummy yummy, it is so authentic and you can feel tea going down your throat smoothly (you know what I mean?)
Pandan chicken is another dish that we always order when we go there. As you can see the picture at the top, everyone grabbed one before I can take a pic of it. Chicken wings are another must order dish, fried till golden brown, but still juicy at the inside. (Hmm... drooling now)
However, the desserts are always selling like hotcakes, so there are times that sticky rice with mango, or sweet potatoes are not available. We actually order in advance, so I managed to take a picture that night.
The shop is actually quite small, and there is another Thai Restaurant beside it. However, I hope you can find the correct one, and give it a try. See the feast we had, there were 12 of us, and we only pay $14 per person. Super worth it right?
Enjoy!!!

Was watching Behind The Job with my mama just now.
At first, I was having dinner and I heard the opening scene on the TV from the living room. I was like, 'Aiyoh! At this timing!!!' (Watched the episode of the crocodile part when Mark Lee was cleaning, so I can imagine what I will see too.)
As expected, I heard a lot of 'sound of disgusted' from Bryan Wong, so it means there are lots of scenes which I do not want to see. Haha.
Anyway, I sat down and watched the variety with my mama, and I really must salute all the cleaners in the whole world. When we are sitting down and disgusted by the 'gross' sight and stench of the rubbish, they have to bear with all these in order to keep the environment clean and nice. Who knows there might be dead rats or animals, and they have to go over and clear everything up.
I know I can not do it. Stench is so far still acceptable, but I sure can not face dead rats!!! Or other dead animals (you know what I mean.)

In the car, on the way to dinner with Benjamin, Hazel and Mei Ting.
Me: 'Hazel, lent me your iPad leh.'
Hazel: 'Huh, I never bring leh. So heavy. I don't drive you know'
Benjamin: 'Hazel, you can put in my car you know. Still have room for one more iPad.'
Then Hazel said something that all of us burst out laughing.
Hazel: 'I used a marker pen to write "I" on a pad and put on your car better.'
Hahaha!!!
