Frankly speaking, I left the office at a very foul mood last night.

I did my portion of work, chasing for approval and getting things on the right track, but I realised more and more things keep coming to me, making it my fault when there is a hiccups. I have my limits of endurance.

Been working in the office, everyday, till late. It's is very depressing to see people leaving one by one, but I just can't!!! Everything has to be done, everyone wants something. And bear in mind, there is only ONE Carmen. Is it my fault that there is only one support staff in our group? Is it my fault that, the management don't want to get another support staff?
I work late for the group every night, but who gets to see? Do I have to publish in the newspaper or run around the office telling people, how late I stayed in the office the previous night? Sometimes when I leave the office on the dot, did they know I bring work home to do? Do I have to send sms to everyone at 3am in the morning, to tell them, I just updated an expenditure update or planned a media schedule??? Like that, then my hard work will get acknowledged? Work so hard for what.

Ever been to the doctor for chest pain, and he said, I overworked. I should relax and give myself a rest. CAN I??? How to relax when everyone is breathing down my neck. and getting into my nerve? How to rest when emails keep coming in without ending?

Maybe it's time for me to leave... I have accepted the fact that I am the only support staff in the group, so I just put in 101% and work. HOWEVER, NO ONE APPREACIATE!!! Maybe I am too naive to believe that...

Very very tired... very very depressed...

Battle with Time

Time started : 8am

I started the day changing slides for my boss for his 8.45pm presentation. Upon completing, I bind 3 copies and went to set up for the meeting. Since then I think, my work has never stop for the day except for lunch.

Running adex, writing order forms, downloading tvcs, chasing reports, doing reports, calling production house, updating datas, catching hold of managers and team leaders to get informations.

Mad rush here and there. See numbers and files... Sometimes I wonder, what has I done to deserve this.
Clock out : 9.30pm

I am dead tired...

I did a recording for One Moment of Glory last night and saw something which angered me.

A couple brought their baby girl to the recording. By right, we have the right to reject their entry as it is stated on the ticket that children under 6 years old are not allow during recording. However, we decided to let them in, provided that the baby and maid to be seated at the side.

I was rather disturbed of what I saw actually. The parents were happily seated with their friends, cheering and playing, leaving the baby with the maid seated at one side. We moved her up to the higher seat, where it will not be too bright, and the noise is not too loud.

How can they leave their baby aside??? The baby is still an infant, so small and delicate. They should know that bright lights and loud noises are no good for an infant!!! So what if you think you are modern parents, a baby is still a baby, regardless he is born 2010, 2011 or 2020!!! How do you expect a modern baby be? Imagine the baby start talking to you the next day he is born, and say 'Hi Mummy, I am finally here. Can I have some milk please? Chocolate favour will be nice.'

A baby still has to go through the process of growing up. He must eat and sleep a lot to grow. He must get used to lights bit by bit, sound little by little. Then start to grow bigger and taller. Last night, everyone are cheering for their friends, and they are making as much noise as possible. Imagine how the baby can take it. If anything happen to the baby's hearing, won't the parents feel guilty???

Worst thing is, the mother can even tell us, at the later part of the show, that her baby is only 3 weeks old!!!! Goodness!!!

Does they know what they are doing???

New Trend?

Last night, I was at 313@ Orchard with some friends, and an interesting scene amused me.

I bet all of you know, what is walking a dog.

For the first time in my life, I saw with my very own eyes, someone walking a cat.

The plump, flurry cat walked down Orchard Road, with head high. It seems to be enjoying the looks of all the people around it, just like the owner. Cat walk! So this is how the word came from.

Somehow, with a bit of amusement, I also feel bad for the cat. Normally cats are treated like royalty, but this cat walked down the road with the chain attached. Like 游街示众...

Should have taken a picture...

Stars

Was watching Entertainment News on KBS last night, and it reported the passing on of Actor Park Yong Ha. He was found died in his own room by his mother. All his friends said he kept to himself a lot, and no one sense that he was actually facing deep problems of his own.

As there are many cases of Korean stars taking their own life, the host said something that left deep impression.

'Everyone want to be a star, but only 1% can make it. A star looks very glamorous on the outside, but he can be the most lonely person in the world. He does not have many friends, people around him are mostly artistes, which tabloid are forever eyeing on juicy news. And if he gets betrayed by his 'trusted friend', it causes him to fall into deeper despair.'

This is quite depressing. Everyone idolised on the job, but they never see the hard work behind it. This does not only applies to artistes in Korea, but everywhere in the whole world. Lost of freedom in almost everything. Can not express themselves freely, as the media will jump onto any mistakes they said, can not put on weight (unless they were debuted right at the start), as they might lost fans who idolise their looks. Can not make friends easily, as they do not know these people are really friends, or just making use of them.

I am glad that I am just who I am.

清香馆

It is my mama's birthday tomorrow, so I applied for a day off to bring my parents out for lunch. Had few restaurants in mind, which serve nice dim sum, recommended by friends in the office. In the end, none was chosen. Haha. My parents said they want to go West Coast Plaza instead. We ended up in 清香馆.

It is located at the basement of West Coast Plaza. At first, I was not very interested in it. It does not have any interesting dishes. Not a very big place with privacy, but we went in still.

Pardon me for not taking any pictures, as I thought there was nothing special in the dishes (which I regretted). We ordered 刀削面, 麻辣面, 葱油饼, 小笼包 and 锅贴. Never have I expected that they will give such big serving. The chef must be in super good mood today. Haha. Gosh! My mama and I could not even finished our own noodles. And the food were really delicious. My papa gave thumbs up for the 葱油饼 and 小笼包, and he even wanted to order another set. (Love to see them enjoying the food.)

For the drinks, I received another surprise. We ordered 菊花茶, as the choices are quite limited. When the waitress brought our drinks to the table, I felt that it looked like plain water. It does not have that brownish colour which we normally see. However, a sip of the drink, you can taste the strong taste of the tea. My mama said, this means the drink is made from high quality 菊花.

Never judge the book by it's cover. The place seems to be very isolated at one corner, but the food was really good. Simple dishes, but they can definitely bring smiles to your face.

We met an elderly uncle in Bishan Multistorey carpark.

He forgot where he parked his car. Though he has noted down the number and level where he parked, the thing is that car park does not have any number indicated on the floor. This showed that Bishan Junction 8 Carpark was not the one he parked at the first place.

No matter what we asked him, he could not remember anything. Jeremy went to walk one round in the Level 2 carpark, he could not even find a car that matched his description. In the end, we brought him up to the Information Counter, and asked for help. We left only when we knew he would be in good hands.

This actually leads me to think... What if it happened to my parents? What if it happened to me when I grow old? Senior citizens tense to forget things easily. Or maybe forget where is home? I am really worried. I just hope that people will be kind enough to help these senior citizens. Don't forget, everyone will be old one day.

Too Fast Too Furious!

In my previous blog, I mentioned that I bought a Fred Perry Bag from Kinokuniya. The next day, Mei Teng brought it to the office. Good things must share, so we showed the new toy to the rest of the gang in the office. Gillian likes it so much, that we decided to rush down to Bugis Branch to try our luck.

Gillian showed us her skillful driving technique and alertness. She is now my Heroine! Woohoo! Although we were driving at a high speed, Gillian can be very alert with the surroundings. As I was sitting beside her, I actually felt like I was on a roller coaster. However, I was not worried or scared, because Gillian is very attentive during driving.

At one of the traffic lights, we continued to move on when the Green Light is on. Suddenly, this Indian man dashed across the road, and we nearly knocked him down by a very close margin. Fortunately, Gillian braked the car in time, and the man quickly ran across. This stupid man should feel super lucky, as he still keep his life.

We were like so close, that I could see him, flying off slightly, and his hand touching the car. Imagine Gillian had not braked in time, he will be sent flying across with great force. I don't understand... Can't you wait for a few minutes at the side for the green man to appear then you can cross the road? I believe he can spare a few minutes of his life at the side. Don't they ever think, that their family members wll be super upset if anything happen to him. Angry!!! Stupid Indian man!!!

Gillian, you are a heroine!!!!

This is not a bowl of udon here. Believe it or not, this is actually a CAKE. A client sent this to Niang Niang's boss in appreaciation of their hardwork for their help. The egg here are actually jelly and the noodle are fresh cream. Fish cake, meat and vegetables are all made of jelly!!! And if you notice, it even provide you chopsticks and spoons, which are made from chocolates.

Previously, I ever blogged about a mahjong cake. It actually came from the same confectionery. I am really impressed with the cakes and pastries. Maybe I will order one for my niece's One Year Old birthday.

Yummy Yummy!!!
