Wedding Ang Bao

Previously, we had a pay cut exercise for 9 months, due to the bad economy. All of us have to face a 20% deduction in our pay, which was a big amount to small executive staff like us. I have to start planning for my saving for 'rainy days' which incur extra expenses, which are not in my budget, such as wedding invites.
Normally I will prepare a $88 ang bao for wedding dinner to my friends, unless we are super close or family relatives, I seldom give more than $188. If there are 2 invites in a month, I will have to give $176 out of my pay cut salary. This means, for that particular month, I will have to 喝西北风. Even if I am prepared to spend lesser on shopping and other entertainment, other bills will still be a heavy burden to me. Can't expect me to drink water every day right?
So 天生丽质,冰雪聪明的我 came up with an idea. I can save $2 per day. In 1 year, I can save up to $730. These money in the container can only be used for wedding invites and nothing else. All I have to do is to find a container, that I cant easily open up, cut a hole at the top and place $2 in everyday. $2 is just a small amount, and I will not feel any pinch placing in everyday, and I told myself, I will just have a dish lesser of meal everyday. This requires determination, but I think I can do it.
I really start my savings, either I put 2 golden coin in or a $2 note. Soon, I can feel the metal box getting heavier and heavier. It helps, I managed to save money, and it gives me satisfaction.
Want to share with everyone here, that I personally have tried out and it is really helpful. Whenever there is a wedding invite, I can simply draw the money out from the box, and not from my pay at all. It helps me tide through the tough period. After that, I can still pamper myself to my favourite MayDay Concert in Singapore.
Try it, my friends. You will gain in the long run.

Just came back from the movie, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

I must admit, that I really do not know what is actually going on at the first half of the movie. My impression of this movie was when Queenie pointed at the poster hanging at the entrance of The Cathay, when we went to gym one day. She said, 'I want to watch this, it's very interesting.' Nana replied with excitement, 'Ah, Jude Law!' whereas I just stare at the poster blankly.

The hugh poster left me a thought that it would be another 'Alice In Wonderland' kind of movie. So when I won a pair of tickets, I got Nana to go with me.

I watched half the movie with lots of question marks in my head. Really can not catch the story at first, and can not follow it properly. However, I did not feel bored or impatient. I was too busy looking out for the wonderful graphic and those dresses that Lily Cole wore in the movie. I tried my best to follow the story, and my eyes are busy looking at all these details. Cool!

Anyway, I am glad that I managed to understand what is going on at the 2nd part, and sit back to enjoy the rest of it. Very impressive! Good and Evil are actually a choice. Sometimes it can be just a small temptation that lead us making the wrong choice. The monk made a pact with Devil, for Immorality and True Love, in return he has to give up his child when she turns 16. Unless he managed to get 5 souls in exchange for his daughter's life.

It is really good, and I will recommend the movie for everyone to watch. It is worth the money. :)

I just made a trip to Samsung Service Center at Plaza Singapura with Angela and Avia on Monday, just because Avia's mobile phone make a dive into the toilet bowl. Of course, she saved it by fishing it out with her bare hands. Well... I think there is no need for more details here.

This morning, when we were in the toilet, we heard Petrina screaming on top of her voice in one of the toilet cubicles. I looked at Niang Niang and said, 'Another one?' It turned out that her working pass was the victim this time. As usual, she has to fish out her pass with her bare hands. Again, I think I shall not include more information on how she does that. Niang Niang and I left her with 'Do you need us to do anything for you? But we know you can handle it.' and we just walked away right after that. Haha.

Mr Toilet Bowl must be feeling hungry recently.

A date, between a guy and a girl'
男孩说:‘So how? Want to go?’
女孩说:‘好, 可是我不要做你的steady.’

这种拒绝人的方式真是简洁有力!

Charcoal Restaurant

Just had dinner at Charcoal Restaurant to celebrate Zilin's birthday. It is belated actually, but it's the thought that counts. Recommended by Angela, I must say the place has really good ambience and the service is fantastic. I was really impressed.

Charcoal Restaurant is started up as a training ground for the students of Shatec. So the waiters who serve the table are all students. Serving tables or cooking in the restaurant are part of their attachment class. Our dear Daryl kept asking the waiter who served him silly questions or passing silly remarks, which made all of us very amused with the latter.
Avia and I were so hungry that we felt that our stomach were kissing our back. All the time we kept praying hard that everyone can arrive asap, then we could all start eating.

Daryl ordered Smoked Chicken and Mushroom Pasta. When the food arrived, Dary realised that there are no Smoked Chicken in the plate. He finished everything then complained on the missing items. We told him the chickens must angry with his behaviour, and all decided to run away. Daryl kept jokingly told the waiter that he was very upset. and the poor boy kept running in and out of the kitchen, investigating. He got caught in between Daryl and the kitchen, in the end, the restaurant manager decided to not charged Daryl at all. Argh!!!

Though it's not Zilin's actual birthday, the restaurnt still give her a complementary slice of cake, and all of them crowd around our table and sang her a birthday song! I think their services are really cool!

Happy Belated Birthday, Zilin!

This Lion Head had been 'staying' in my boss's room for 4 days and it was collected today and sent to the Carlsberg Roadshow in Redhill Lane. Of course I went too, and this time I really enjoyed myself, because Mak, Kelvin and Nana came to accompany me, but still disapponted that I missed the awesome performance of 梅花桩表演.

At the end of the artistes segment, all of them are to give their best greetings to the residents of Redhill. Dai Yang Tian and Joanne Peh did their parts perfectly and when it's Pornsak's turn, Mark Lee told him to wish everyone in Thai.

Pornsak said a long portion, which I can not understand, and he ended his greetings with 'Heng Heng Tu Tu Wonder Cup'. Mark Lee pointed to his flat chest and said 'I also want Heng Heng Tu Tu Wonder Cup!'

Actually it means Lucky Everyday. I also want Heng Heng Tu Tu Wonder Cup!

Heng Heng Tu Tu Wonder Cup for 2010!

Here I Am!!!

I have always wanted to start blogging, but a computer idiot like me, does not know how to create one. Hahaha!!! Anyway, with Gillian's step by step instructions (you know, people like me who do not understand PC language easily, need everything to be demo step by step), I have my blog created.
Allow me a short exploring period, I need to find out what kinds of wonder I can do here. Who knows, I might be an expert later on. Haha! 要慢慢发掘它的美妙之处.
